There’s a well-known expression that states “never judge a book by its cover,” and in most cases, I agree with that advice. However, I hope that the cover of Vanguards of Light: The Calling prompts a favorable initial judgment. I found it intriguing, and in my mind, it symbolically captures the underlying theme of the trilogy.
The graphic depicted is called “Metatron’s Cube,” a symbol associated with Archangel Metatron and Sacred Geometry. Archangel Metatron is mentioned in ancient mythologies associated with Islam, Judaism, and Christianity, so he transcends any specific religious affiliation. He was one of only two Archangels who were ever human, and was considered to be the scribe of God.
Given his exalted status, he was credited with understanding the Universe and the root of all of creation. This knowledge is conveyed in the cube. It contains the blueprints of all of the geometric shapes in the Universe which form the basis of physical matter. We see these shapes in every aspect of creation, including DNA!
The philosopher Plato linked the shapes to the spirit and physical world, and as such, the shapes found within Metatron’s Cube are referred to as the Platonic solids.
Metatron’s Cube symbolizes the ideas of Divine Creation, unity and oneness, and organized patterning throughout the Universe. These themes will be addressed throughout the adventures of our three dear friends, Kristina, Amber, and William. So Metatron’s Cube sets the stage for the unfolding of a story designed to reveal truth and dispel darkness.
